DISCO MAXIMUS

"This place is a contemporary coliseum of clubs, both figuratively and literally."

Disco Maximus

Disco Maximus—no, it’s not a gay Gladiator. What it is is the gorgeous port city of Kotor’s most prominent nightclub--and for good reason. Built from the old city walls, millions were spent turning this space into one of the Adriatic’s premiere nightlife destinations, where famous celebrities and artist alike perform to the delight of huge crowds of over 3,000 club-goers

Disco Maximus

This place is a contemporary coliseum of clubs, both figuratively and literally. Designed to evoke the feel of an ancient Roman coliseum, every inch of the main room is covered in marble. Stone walls, marble pillars, and arches line the second floor, while on the main floor mini-marble tables dot the main dance floor to serve as standing tables to watch the cavalcade of regular performers that include the likes of creation superstar Jelena Karleusa.

On the lower levels, 2 separate areas utilize the same Roman theme in creating a more tamed, intimate space to provide a place to escape from the carnage of the main floor. The “Pub Mediteraneo”, built under the streets of the old city, it looks like a kind of cozy catacombs to enjoy drinks with friends on crimson leather seats.

Next the Piano Salon, takes a slightly more modern approach in its aesthetic, and with its calmer music provides a slightly more subdued ambience.

Disco Maximus

The club is opened, and packed, well past 4 am during its busiest summer months, and guests to Kotor will appreciate its progressive house music as it is one of the only places in town that doesn’t play traditional Serbian/Montenegrin tunes. (Not that there’s anything wrong with that) Suffice it to say you’ll give this place a thumb up.
